My company terminate me because of dual employment. They have now blacklisted me. How will I get a new job? Is my career destroyed completely?
From India, New Delhi
Hi,

You shouldn't have joined other company while not relieved properly by your previous company. Now that they had terminated your services you are free to join any company. However you will not be able to provide experience certificate. Also incase of any background verification by your new employer, old company will give negative feedback only. As old employer blocklisted you they will not consider you for rehire.

This situation is not end of your career.. You can try and join any company who don't insists for experience /relieving order.

Gain experience out of the mistake you made and do not repeat it at any cost.

Wish you all the best!!

The modern-day terminology for your act is called Moonlighting, as per Wipro's recent notification. It is basically looked at as Unethical. It is possible, you might have done out of ignorance or over-enthusiasm or you find it is exciting. However, you have paid the price for that act. Move forward in life. Please do not repeat the mistakes. You can admit it yourself with your future employer the mistake you committed, the lesson you have learnt and assure that you will not repeat the mistake in the interest of your professional career.

Best wishes

I was also in the same situation. The solution is:

KEEP ON GIVING INTERVIEW and you will get a job.

Don't stress out. Time will fix everything.

Set expectation: I will give 30 interviews, out of which at least 1 company will understand and will give me a job.

When facing being blacklisted by a previous employer, finding a new job can be challenging but not impossible. Here are some tips to help you in this situation:

1. Be honest about your blacklisting when asked about previous employment.
2. Explain the situation positively, focusing on your desire for self-improvement.
3. Highlight your skills and experience relevant to the new job, rather than dwelling on the past.
4. Be persistent in your job search and don't give up.
5. Remember that being blacklisted doesn't mean the end of your career. Many companies don't check references or blacklist
employees.

With honesty, a positive outlook, and perseverance, you can overcome the challenges of being blacklisted and find a new job to rebuild your career.
