If you are working in a HR position already, it is reasonable to assume that you should know the answer to this. If indeed you are employed anywhere, then it is more than likely that you would have had a background check to get the job.

BGV is a process of ascertaining and verifying the identity and credentials of an individual for the purpose of hiring. BGV is not limited to hiring alone even Banks use to do BGV before processing high volume of loans applied by individuals and firms.

Verifying the truth of what the employee has declared in his CV or application for employment. This is mainly done with reference to his experience and the roles and responsibilities, his last drawn salary, reporting pattern and any negative remarks in his service records. If there is anything which is against the CV, his employment in the new organisation may be at a threat and it may even lead to dismissal from service.
