What would be the basic salary that can be provided to trainees?

We are hiring trainees in our firm so what would be the basic salary that can be provided to them as a trainee. Need your advice.

Since these trainees are not apprentices engaged through Apprentice Act, you should pay salary equal to minimum wages notified by the government. It shall consist of a basic pay and a dearness allowance variable according to changes in the consumer price index
