Hi everyone, I am Chandra Mohan Naidu from Mumbai.

This is my first post on this forum, I would like to know that what are valid documents are required to collect from an employee for his/her nominee of his employment.

This is a general question and applicable to claims of employees if any unfortunate incident happens to him/them to pay the statutory dues to their nominee.

Dear Colleague,

Your intensions are appreciated to support employee's family in crisis. Many organizations fail in creating valid nominations and the family is unaware and looses many benefits. Generally you may collect Nominations under the Legal Provisions for:
- Settlement of Leave salary under Factories Act ( Refer the Rule)
- PF nomination covering EPS and EDLI by On line /Digital Nomination
- ESI Nomination
-Gratuity Nomination ( Refer Rules)
- A general Nomination from for all Purposes to be used for any other settlement for payment of balance wages and other benefits as per policy of your organization.

In case of un-married employees advise then to change nomination as and when they get married which many do not do and later the benefits settlement is delayed enormously

To substantiate the claims you may always ask the family members in case of any untoward incident, the Legal heirship Certificate and you may proceed in line with that in the absence of any specific Nomination. If Nomination is prevailing you may go in line with Nominations if it is valid.

Dear Colleague, For the PF go with e-nomination process in the EPF Portal itself and there are lot of guidelines given by EPFO for uploading e-nomination under EPF/ EPS/ EDLI.
