Hi, In my office i'm always doing my job without keeping anything pending, but still my GM always trying to find mistakes in me. Whereas other colleague is not completing his responsibilities on time - still GM will take it lightly.
I felt since i'm accounts manager, he is operations manager, may be that is why GM gives less importance. One more thing operations manager will never listen and respect anybody in office, he will never reply mails also. Inspite of all he is successful.
Please give some clarity how to handle this.!!!

You need to show more maturity in your work place and view things in a proper perspective.
Things will change. Still you feel that what you are saying is a reality, then please approach your GM after your working hours, and discuss the matter sincerely. Do not become aggressive in discussion but be assertive.

Hi,
Perception differs ! How you assess your own work may not be the same when assessed by your Superior /HOD. It's human psychology that we always think high of us and will not admit where we lack, where to improve etc. Please develop positive attitude towards your GM and colleagues. Discuss with your GM when he is free about his expectation of your performance. Please do do a swot analysis of yourself (https://creately.com/blog/diagrams/p...swot-analysis/ )
In what way your GM is going to get benefited by treating two Managers in a different way ? Do you have any answer for this question.
At times apart from work performance there are other traits which will also be given more weightage like attitude, interpersonal skills, trouble shooter on work front without escalating each and every trivial to the next level, being proactive on work front etc.
Mostly rather than hard work smart work is appreciated by Superiors. Before I conclude always please remember " comparisons never end - you can never be satisfied if you start comparing yourself to someone else. "
Be positive! wish you good luck!

As of my understanding, it's not mentioned what type of organisation you are working with to understand more about the happened. But it's true that many companies are running a business for the purpose of making money. Money is ultimate to anything or anyone in way of business. As you are accounts manager, you should present about your financial data in the smart way. Right or wrong is differ for everyone and what's right to you is may wrong to me but the true is always true to everyone. Believe in your efforts and try to handle it in different way of style.
Many thanks

Hello Team,
I read the discussion, but many a times talking to boss after working hours also doesn't look good. Even if the person discuss with boss about his/her expectations he wont open up his views. He may say all is ok no issues. sometimes boss expectations may be the guy/employee may help his personal things. which many of the people unable to do. Though maturity showed at some point we feel demotivated with the partiality in same team.

it seems that you are comparing yourself with that "other" manager who you think is being favoured. My guess is that you both have differnt type of assignments.
GM is responsible for overall pweformance and accountable. He can only favour someone at his own peril. In any case the judgement and and treatment of other employees is not your responsibility.
So stop punishing yourself by this comparison of treatment. Just be concerned with your work and take pride in your work quality so that no one can find faults with your work.
You are lucky to in accounts where work and performance is measurable and not subject to personal biases.
My experience is that good accountants are much in demand and enjoy privileged position when they do good analysis and checks to prevent cash leakage.
To begin with be clear that that persons performance is not your responsibility. Do quality work and you will be rewarded.

Its all about your thinking, you are comparing yourself with others, whenever you started comparing with other you will never get focus in your own work and which leads to more mistakes and caused loosing your self confidence. So you need to ignore all these things and focus on your own work with quality. Whenever you are master in doing quality work and get uniqueness in your work your boss will started appreciating your work. After some time your realized that he is doing your favor in all the tasks. So ignore all the things and see positive in every moment.

Do not measure your progress using someone else's ruler. Why do you evaluate/judge colleagues? Your comparison with others is not good. Business formed by many minds and many hands. If you are not fit for their culture you can move because you are not a tree. Biased culture used as a strategy in Indian work places and it is an unprofessional practice. Many organisations (especially big) practice culture based hiring also. They slightly forget quality, talent, efficiency and effectiveness. Culture will perpetuate biasness and unprofessionalism in workplace. If you Respect your culture and respect others also then culture will not be a subject in hiring, coordinating and managing people.
