Dear Sir, I work as Sr Hr Executive, we have few employee who travel for official work which requires more than 24 hrs. Employees are asking for comp off ? Is it allowed or not ?

Hi,
Employees who travel are at which level ? Within the city or outside the city or out of India? Your post is not clear.
Are they traveling on working day or week end holiday ?
Basically it is Company specific.
Generally followed practice is that for such category of employees if travel is on week day, their absence from duty will be marked as on duty. Either tour allowance or deputation allowance or both will be paid.
Other point is by virtue of their position if they are traveling ( which means their nature of work require compulsory travel) they should aware that it is part of their job.

Hi
Employees travel outside mumbai city. They travel as and when work arises not specific on week day may in between. We are pay only for travel and food allowance to the employee.
My question is are employees are eligible for comp off if they travel on normal working days ?

Hi,
Based on the frequency of such travels either you may recommend comp-off or some additional allowances. To reiterate it is company specific.
Please ensure that you cover such category employees under Personal Accident Policy if not covered under WCI, considering their extensive travel.

Dear Friend,
Asking for comp off by the staff is genuine. To facilitate this your management has to bring a policy to compensate but by way of comp off would not be possible.
You can buy out the time spent by staff for which they are claiming comp off in their travel bill hour wise (@ = one day basic/ hour spent extra).
