Dear All, Is it necessary to enclose the non employment certificate of the claimant during the submission of EPFO death claim?
From India, Coimbatore
If claim is for the final settlement of accumulation in the EPF a/c of the deceased there is no need to submit 'non-employment certificate'. What crucial here are:
1) Nomination in favour of the claimant, if any from the records of the employer. Sometimes the employer wouldn't have collected from the deceased when he/she was alive and registered/renewed. This would call for 'succession certificate' and NOCs from his family members duly notarised. This is required to avert litigations from likely stake holders.
2) Death Certificate
3) Bank details of the recipients
4) PAN card, address proof & ID proof
5) Aadhaar card.
Also can submit the form attached with all relevant info filled in together with documents required.
If the claim is in respect of "Family Pension" under EPS or any other scheme, it may be called, for that the widow of the deceased should submit the 'non-employment certificate', which is NOT mandatory. However 'non-remarriage certificate' may be insisted upon together with 'Life certificate'.
