I was working as a probationary officer (joined in july 2016) in a public sector bank. But due to my mother's bad health I was unable to attend the bank for 9 months,I had informed my branch head and Bank's HR team that I will be on a long leave but didn't specify the duration as it was unclear at the time. But when I joined after 9 months I found that I was removed from services after 6 months on account of excess leaves and absconding from bank. Now since I am terminated my major concern is that can I apply for any govt. Bank job or any govt. Job. I know it's wrong to ask but can I hide my previous employment details if I apply for a new job or get selected in another govt. Job. Kindly suggest... my life depends on it...

First of all being a probationer, you were not having any lien and as such taking such a long leave was a serious blunder committed by you. Anyway, past is past and shall be ignored. But when you apply for a Govt/public sector opening, you cannot hide your bank service. Now if you mention the bank job, the next question will be why did you abandon the job and that is the end of the selection. Once terminated from public sector it is very difficult to get into another public sector company. But if you can prove to be 'efficient', you can get into a private sector companies. That also depends upon your efficiency to establish that your presence with mother was more important for you than the job and you had informed the bank that you would require some 9 months' leave to take care of your mother etc. The rest is with the management to decide. Again in private sector it is your performance that matters, and once selected nobody is going to ask about the past provided you are good at your work. In public sector, on the other hand, the back ground should be perfect. Even if you do not work you can remain there provided your appointment was as per the policy.

It's wrong to think of suppressing facts. Always face the truth, if you would show your caliber you can triumph, that may not come in the very first attempt. Try and try keep trying until you achieve.

As pointed out above, the fact of termination of service cannot be suppressed and it will come out sooner or later. Since your service was terminated for unauthorised absence, it is not a disqualification for service in the government sector, better be prepared to answer a lot of question on the factual background leading to the termination of service and the compelling circumstances thereof.
