Dear LTHR
ESI is applicable , When any Unit have 10 or more than 10 Employees, and drawing the wages up to 21000 per month comes under ESI Act, 1948.
It is calculated on gross with total of 6.5%.
Means 4.75% of gross paid by Employer side and reaming 1.75% from Employee side.
On other hand , any Firm which has a minimum of 10 employees has to be registered with the Employees' Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act. Earlier it was minimum 20 employees . Total 25.15% of basic wages will calculated.
12% from Employee side
and reaming 13.15% from Employer Side.
