Hello,
I am a teacher with additional duty of Excellence Co-ordinator. My work is to strengthen the system and processes of the school for continuous improvement.
I am supposed to develop KRA and Balance Score card. I have done research from the net and developed KRA for teachers, safe moderator, club co-ordinator, sports teachers & Academic co-ordinators. I need to develop KRA for Principal and Vice Principal. I know I have started from opposite direction. Can u help me in developing KRA for Principal and V.Principal?
Secondly I need to develop Balance Score Card. We have vision statement and I need to do base work for development of Objectives, Long Term and Short Term Goals, KPM and KPIs. I badly need guidance and support.

You have really started with the bottom up approach whereas the approach needed is top down where you first fix the BSC of the institution and from it derive the KRAs of the Principal/Vice-Principal and so on cascading to the lowest level. Now that you have prepared the KRA of teachers etc and develop it to be KRA directory of them by making it to be comprehensive listing of all areas, from which the individual members can choose whatever suits them. Before developing BSC for the school, take the views of the stake holders (management, students, parents, society besides teachers & other staff) using SWOT analysis and then evolve the growth model of the school. After getting all these inputs, only the BSC can be framed otherwise it will remain wishful thinking. Based on the targets set in the BSC, the KRA targets of teachers can be fixed. Without BSC if KRAs are drafted , there is the danger of loosing key perspectives. Once you finish this exercise, you can share with us for our views.

Thanks a lot for guidance and support. We have done SWOT for teachers, students and parents. We conducted surveys and analysed everything. We have made objectives and ST and LT goals also. A kind of BSC I have developed, SLT set the targets and we are doing it from last 7 years. We track the results and make action plans etc. to bridge the gaps. We have started many improvement projects to bridge the gaps found. But seriously saying I am not confident about whatever I am doing. I want to do it seriously in a proper manner. I have not done any course related to this field but I really wanted to learn. I am getting support from the SLT (Senior Leadership Team - Principal/VP and Co-ordinators) but they have limited time. So I feel that I should do my duty very honestly to get the best output.
If you want to see, I can send you the work done. I know people like you are very busy. I appreciate that you took time to answer me. But I personally feel the more you share the more you learn.

Further to the views expressed above, keep in mind the 4 perspectives on which you need to create your BSC model - financial perspective, customer perspective, operational efficiency perspective and then development perspective. From these end results will flow your KRA's & KPI's.

Working on BSC . Will mail you just after finishing. I have attached my old BSCs and revised one (Half done). We have changed our VMV this year.
Actually I am not professional. I am just a teacher with additional responsibility. But I am happy because I am learning many things.
