Hi all,
I'm working as an HR Executive, and supposed to do BGC of an employee ASAP.
But, I have no clue on how do I approach to his previous employers and what details should I claim from their end.
In this process do I need to get any details from the employee before I approach his previous employers?
If anyone can help me with the BCG process and its documents that would be a great help.
Thanks and regards,
Nirosha

Dear Nirosha,
Earlier a detailed questionnaire was sent to the ex-company of the employee to know the details of the tenure of the newly joined employee. However, with attrition rising, companies started receiving scores of background verification forms and it became very difficult to give confirmation about the skills or qualities of the employee.
Against this backdrop, many companies just send simple letter to authenticate the information provided by the job applicant. The rough draft that you may send to the ex-company of the newly joined employee could be as below:
Heading: Background Verification: Mr/Ms __________
Dear Sir/Madam
1. This is to inform you that one of your ex-employees has joined our organisation, ______________ (complete name of your company). This mail is sent to verify the information provided by the employee. The scanned copy of the Service-cum-Employment certificate that your organisation has provided to the employee has been attached to this mail.
2. Please confirm the following:
a) Authenticity of the certificate
b) Whether separation of the employee was under normal circumstances or it had some negative connotation. If latter, then please mention the reasons.
c) Whether employee has any dues outstanding
d) General conduct and disposition of the employee
3. We will be obliged to you for providing truthful information to us.
Thanks and regards,
________ (complete name)
