Hello Seniors,
I have 11 years of experience in HR as Generalist/HRBP role. I am interested in moving into counselling or consultancy role. I have done PGDBA in HR. Is there any course/certification I have to do to move?

Dear Aprajita,
Hitherto you have worked as employee and that too in HR. Therefore, the noteworthy point is will you be able to sell your consulting or counselling services? Your business will depend on your ability to sell and not on the knowledge or skills that you have.
Going further, you may do the market study as to whom your services are applicable and how your services will be different. There are so many retired HR professionals who will be your competitors. Therefore, you need to have action plan to compete with them.
Lastly about the type of job. Hitherto yours was sedentary job. Now you would like to transit to a profession that demands movement, intra-city or inter-city. Therefore, you need mental preparedness for the new role.
Therefore, please think on all the above aspects.
Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar
