Recruitment is a process of stimulating prospective employees to apply for a vacant position through advertising about any vacant position through advertising modes like positng a job in any Newspaper, Any Job Portal, etc.
Wherein, Selection is a process of choosing an appropriate candidate from the results received as part of the Recruitment Process. Its not that simple as Selection Process involves several steps wherein the candidate is put to various tests like Aptitude Test, Analytical Test, Simulation Test, Role Play, Inbasket and few other tests.

MEANING:
Recruitment: It is the process of searching candidates for vacant jobs and making them apply for the same.
Selction: It is the process of selection of right types of candidates and offering them jobs.
NATURE:
Recruitment: It is a positive process
Selection: It is a negative process
AIM:
Recritment: Its aim is to attract more and more candidates for vacant jobs.
Selection: Its aim is to reject unsuitable candidates and pick up the most suitable people for the vacant jobs.
PROCEDURE:
Recruitment: The firm notifies the vacancies through various sources and distributes application forms to candidates.
Selection: The firm asks the candidates to pass through a number of stages such as filling of forms, employment tests, interview, medical exam, etc..
CONTRACT OF SERVICE:
Recruitment: No contractual relation is created. Recruitment implies communication of vacancies only.
Selection: Selection follows recruitment and it leads to a contract of service between the employer and the employee.

Have an observation, in the I presume, that the recruitment is overall 'whole' (matter of staffing), and selection is one part of that 'whole'.
There appears to be fundamental difference between what has been said earlier and this. It is not as if one finishes and the other starts. I understand that it all is within the jurisdiction of recruitment.
