Mohan:
Considering its a case of merger, you should be aware of the company that has purchassed your previous employer. Typically the company whom has accquired your previous employer should be managing the PF too.
Approach them and find out what happened to the PF formality maintained by your previous employer.
You can approach the PF authorities and trying finding it out as you PF number would entail company PF code number too.
The entire Withdrawal process may not be easy considering the situation you are in.
I hope it helps.
Cheers,
Nikita

Hi,
I have read and as per my understanding, if some one not able to trace previous employer or not able to get the sign-off from them on PF withdrawal form then he can fillup the required form and take the sign-off from Doctor,MP,MLA or gusted officer and submit the same to PF office he have pf slips and other details of previous employer.
Please confirm if it is true and in this case what all forms needs to filled by employee to withdraw the PF.
Regards
Mohan
