Hi,
I am working in an IT based Pvt company, New Delhi. Suddenly they have modified certain policies related to working hours & local conveyance.
According to the company If an employee is going to field (customer location) directly from the home and the employee have to leave from home @ 08:00 AM to reach the customer place in such conditions when will the office working hours of that employee will calculate from 09:30 AM (actual office time) or from 08:00 am. Pls help me out on this because the directors of the company are saying that there are no such rules for Pvt company.

Dear Bhalla,
I am at a loss to understand what your query actually means. Working hours of any employee would be the normal stretch of time from his entry into the place of work and till his exit from there as already fixed. This can be watched by the employer and recorded by some means or other. The time at which you leave the place of your stay and the time taken to travel the distance from there is unconnected to the computation of your normal daily working hours. So is the case of field work for which you are permitted to go straight from your place of stay unless and otherwise it is such a very far off location. In case you are asked to record your daily attendance at your office first and then proceed to the field, your working hours commence exactly at the time you are asked to record your presence.
