What is the current salary limit under the workmen compensation act as applicable in Kerala for paying temporary disablement benefits ?.

Dear Csksinc,
2. The Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923 is a Central Act and its extension is for whole of the country. The same has been now amended to read as 'Employees Compensation Act'. However, the State Govts. are empowered to make their own rules. You can go through the State rules for specific query. There is no upper salary limit of the coverage.
The amendment has brought many changes which, inter alia, includes the following changes:-
1.Enhanced compensation limits, full medical expenses reimbursement.
2. case disposal within 3 months.
3. It is now applicable to casual & clericals,
4.Revised monthly wage ceiling limit of 50% of Rs.4000 increased to Rs.8000.
5.The expenditure for funeral has been enhanced to Rs.5000 from 2500, If the injury results in employee's death.
