Dear All
Our factory covered under ESI act, 1948 wef from 01/09/2016 as per new amendment of the act. My query is, as per new GO, if any establishment newly covered under ESI act, the contributions will be Employee 1% and Employer 3% instead of 1.75% and 4.75% for further 24 months. But, I am trying to upload the challan through portal, but system generates the challan for 1.75% and 4.75% total 6.5% instead of 4%. Please guide me in this regard.

reduced rates of contribution is applicable in only specified zones, where ESIC is launched fresh .

Mr. US Sharma is right.
Contribution @ 3% & 1% for 24 months is applicable to the area where the ESI scheme is launched fresh. If in your area, the scheme is already existing, then the normal contribution will be applicable.

Dear Jalluriram,
You query is valid. and there is need to change the software changes by the ESIC officials.
The software team in Delhi is working on it, and it will take some time.
In the mean time, you can submit the challan with Old rate -
i.e. 6.50 % and afterwards you will get the rebate on the same.
