Dear Vikas,
The type of description of your restaurant that you have given speaks volume. There is no appointment letter, no salary slip etc. shows that the restaurant was run like road side dhaba. In these kind of set up, employees are dealt like chattel at the dispensation of the owner. Hospitality industry has downside of this kind.
More than this, I feel that owner was upset with you as such. Unawareness of the day's menu was just a trigger.
I feel that you may allow this employment to go off. Better search a better job! There is no point in taking employer like this!

sir,
can you please thrown the light on legal action for voilating such guidelines. as it is small city here even bigger industries like Real estate, foundry etc. does not follow the proper rule. since there is Lack of unemployment. hardly to get the job cause employee does not ask even for their rights. if we ask for our rights employer thrown us out and again will be jobless? in our city more than 95% org does not follow the labour laws guidelines inspite that Labour authorities are silent. employer has compelled the employee not to ask for their rights because they very well known due to unemployment employee will never ask for the same even as GM, HR also silent being afraid to be out from org,
Thanks,
