Management is asking me to prepare termination policy - reason for long absentees without information
From India, Bengaluru
Dear Mamatha,
You are from what industry? In which part of India your company is located? I ask these questions because more than policy on employee termination, you need standing orders as per the standing orders of your state. If you get approved the standing orders, you can terminate employee on account of his/her misconduct.
Even without standing orders also, you may conduct the domestic enquiry for each misconduct and terminate the employee.
Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar

There is no provisions of termination policy, but you can adopt a Standing Order if such standing order is applicable to your company. Standing orders generally specify terms related to termination which you can follow. In case of absence of standing order, you can follow the model standing order. It is advisable to consult a lawyer and get a standing order drafted as per requirement of your company.
