I have been working in my father's hospital for last 4 years as a specialist. He didn't pay me monthly regular salaries, rather my payment depended on the amount of case load I used to handle. Therefore I do not have a uniform payment pattern from my dad to my bank account. Now I am applying for a job in hospital in another city. Will this experience be counted as legally valid as first of all it will be from my dad, and also there is no fixed payment pattern. However it was a fulltime job with emergency duties etc and I was given no / leniency in any manner.

Hello,
I like your honesty. Very seldomnly would you find somebody who would ask for an opinion in this regard. I presume, your dad's more of a kind of strict businessman and hence your frustration with regard to your job is quite obvious.
Ok, now tell me something. Do you file your returns ? If yes, what's the income your show and in what form ? A Hospital is an establishment and hence all records have to be statutorily maintained. So, salaries being disbursed to all the employees would also be recorded in some or the other register (it's an audit requirement). Even for Financial purpose, these details would be mentioned somewhere. Check it out.
By the way, I presume that you are a DOCTOR....
And in most of the hospitals, consultant doctors are paid in the similar fashion. So there is nothing to worry. I am sure, your prospective employer would be well aware of such kind of service / consultancy arrangements and hence should not be a worry for you.
Good Luck.

Hi thanks for the reply. I do file tax returns. The amount I receive from my father is shown as salary/ doctors fees per case. However as I stay home only, I don't have any other expense. I am concurrently setting up my own hospital in nearby city since last 3 years and whatever I have received as a salary I am spending on my setup. It's not running at a full operational pace yet and technically I am in loss since last 3 years (as setup is still in process).
