Need a help. As i am working on Coaching and Mentoring and Performance Appraisal, I need data on these practices.No i do not need the theory or something, need to know how is it done in the organizations.If any of your organizations practice coaching & mentoring and have a policy on it please do forward. And if there is no policy as such and it is practiced, please mail me the procedure. And performance appraisal system as well.It's kinda urgent.And please do mention the organizations name.Awaiting for your replies.

The process of coaching and Mentoring is more to do with the relationship and the practical implications rather than theory.It can be implemented by identifying a set of mentors in your organization who has got the right skills for the same i.e their profiling can be done from some of the reputed institutes like IIM/XLRI or maybe from a private consultant.Infact these institutes provide the training workshops on Mentoring and Coaching so this set of people can be nominated for those programmes so that they have an better understanding of this process.Once this has been done then a set of Mentees may be identified and they should be given a choice to choose their Mentor from the above set of identified,tested and trained Mentors.After this a deadline can be set say 1 year and the periodic reviews can be done after every quarter.Its not necessary that the Mentor needs to be a superior of the Mentee,it can be vice versa even.

As far as the Performance appraisal is concerned,every org has a different format.The most easy and commonly used system is that at the beginning of the year the KRA’s can be identified for every individual and the some portion of pay should be associated with their accomplishment.Inbetween the year the periodic reviews can be done.At the end of the year,they can be rated against those KRA’s.
