Hi,
I have a very specific query.
We submit original medical bills to get exemption upto 15,000. If I have done it last FY, in December and have remaining January - March bills of last FY, can I submit those in this FY and get that exemption ? Considering we are submitting originals ?

Hi ABRoy,
You are talking about FY14-15. You had submitted med bills in Dec14 and want to claim bills of Jan15-March15 in FY15-16.
Claim can be carried forward in case of LTA but not Medical, as per my knowledge. For medical you have 2 options:
1. Manage to produce whole Rs. 15,000 bills by the date of submission.
2. Since #1 may not always be possible, the best thing you should have done was to claim Jan15-Mar15 bills directly to IT department while filing ITR for FY14-15.
I am worried if you did not do that, you cannot really do anything now. You have let it go.
