I got selected in one consultancy as a hr recruiter.. and they are asking me to submit original certificates? shall i submit or not..what are the problems of submitting original certificates.. Tell me your suggestion immediately .. as i need to take decision with in tomorrow 5pm..

Submitting original educational certificate for verification is perfectly reasonable,but if the company intends to retain the certificates then it is illegal.
Tomorrow if you want to quit the company for any reason,the company will create trouble in returning your certificates.
Company can keep xerox copies of yur qualifications after checking out your originals.Beyond that any retention makes it a kind of compulsion on employee.

It's pretty obvious that they are EITHER not sure that you will stay for sometime in this job OR the track record of the employees here isn't great [many leaving in short periods, for whatever reason(s)].
Either way, this isn't a nice/great way to begin any relationship/association.
And like Nathrao mentioned, you will be giving THEM the control of WHEN you want to leave this job.
