Hello All,
I am an IT engineer working in branded company from past 7 months. My total exp. is now 3 years and my present CTC is 5.55 L/annum
Due to bad work culture and too much politics I am not able to work to the best of abilities and would like to switch to company with long term career plans.
I am not a regular job hopper. This is my 2nd organization in my career so far and I worked for 2.4 years for previous organization.
So considering this what salary hike can I expect.
How much % salary hike should I ask as I have no intention to switch in near future.I am looking for a stable career.
Awaiting for your reply.
Regards.

Dear,
Switching a company in 7 months is not a good sign for new employment.
However as your concern is genuine , you may share this with the interviewer. Perception of interviewer in this matter will decide whether to consider your matter as genuine or fake one for salary hike.
If the interviewer selects you considering it as genuine one , then never ask them for salary hike else this may make them feel that you are switching job because of salary.
Be honest and tell them that you want good company culture and career growth. If they are satisfied with your explanation, they definitely will hire you with a salary what you deserve and as per their company policy or may simply offer you the same salary what you are getting.
I hope this will help you...

Hello Sonu !!
In fact as per your query it appears you are more worried reg Salary hike than the work Culture. Be focused in your carrier Goals & don't get distracted towards short term gains.
Regarding salary hike there are no standard set of guidelines. It will all depend upon how you impress upon with your previous experience & satisfy the New Interview Panelists.
Different Companies provide the Salary packages as per their own set of policies. Yah in case you have some special skill sets, which the New Company may be looking for, you may get a salary hike of even upto 50%. But in general it is in the range of 20 to 25% provided you can convince the New Company's Interview Panelists that you have a strong & valid reason for a switch.

Hi,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on my query.
The only reason I am asking about salary hike is I am not going to switch again in near future.
My priority is definitely a stable career but If I am asked about salary expectations by new employer then how much should I ask in such case is my concern.
If getting an opportunity I would not mind more money than what currently I am getting.
Regards.

""With all humility I dont belive in old school thought of bad resume as everyone is looking for quick solutions specially in IT field..""
Wish you best of luck in new job.
Remember the proverb-old is gold-it still has a meaning.
Companies appreciate employees with a stable resume and not job hoppers.
Quick solutions are not always the way out.
People look for stable solutions.
Anyway all the best.
