Hi all, In the current scenario, would like to know how HR can be customer centric to its internal customers (employees). What step should HR take to to improve its relationship with the employees so that the productivity is more and they deliver quality product to the external customers.

HR can be said to be customer centric when the work place is a happy one to be there for employees and Mondays are welcome by employees with open hands.But happy work place does not manifest on it's own and it needs to be created and HR is the key facilitator in making it happen.The HR shall aim at a right mix of work, wages,welfare and wealth (for organisation).It should build a culture of free communication in the organisation so that the employees do not feel stifled in voicing their contributions to strategies and solutions.This instills the feeling of ownership in them.They need to have a mentor who can guide them through confusion and conflicts.HR needs to identify the mentors in the organisation.Empower employees by investing in their development through learning and development initiatives.Initiate employee friendly measures like flexible working hours to provide work-life balance and invest in health care of employees and keep employees in good houmour by organizing fun activities now and then as social lubrication is necessary to remove clogs of stress and rejuvenate their mind and body that can be transferred by the employee to his work place.Keep engaging the employee. Sounds easier but smells harder as all this sound advice may immediately may drive you thinking of budget. but employees are no longer sweet talked to stay with you.They may vanish faster than Alladin's magic lamp if they are not engaged.
