Hi,Some years ago i was involved in a false case filed by our college.A FIR was lodged.College authorities later on accepted their mistake and the court acquitted all of us.I have applied for passport after that and submitted all case related document there and got through verification to get my passport.
I am now a experienced professional with 2+ years of experience,Currently i got an offer from a company which has background check,I am wondering if i should mention about the case details at all.
Please advice on the same.

You have been cleared of all charges against you that's very important.
You should declare your status to the new company of what happened and show proof that you are innocent.
Do not hide the truth from the new employer as background check might reveal the history and you will caught cheating.
All the best

Has the company asked for such details of criminal cases/civil cases etc?
If they have not asked, there is no need to mention it.
This is my opinion.(Please take other people opinion also)
Check the application form or any other paper to be filled in and submitted to the company.
You have been acquitted. The matter ends there.
What was the nature of the case against you??

Normally, only pending Criminal cases against the applicant ,if any have to be mentioned in the application for job that too if asked only. When such a case is decided by the competent Court in your favour, the matter is over once for all. I endorse the views of .Mr.Nathrao.

Hi Every1,Thanks for your answers. The case was of some IPCs such as unlawfull gathering, creating Violence etc. There were 17 other people involved and every 1 was acquitted from all charges that too in the second court hearing this was 3 years ago before i joined my previous company.
Now that i have a offer from TCS.They have asked informations regarding criminal records for background verification.
If I am acquitted then they cannot find any criminal records right?

""They have asked informations regarding criminal records for background verification.
If I am acquitted then they cannot find any criminal records right?""
If they have specifically asked the matter is different.
Criminal records can always be accessed though individual has been acquitted.
If the application form has a column--any pending cases and if so details there of is DIFFERENT from ""Has there been any case against you""
Please take a thoughtful and careful decision about disclosure or non disclosure.
If I was there in your position and company specifically asks for any such detail,I would furnish it with remarks of acquittal.
You have to take a call,no one can really advice you in such matters.

The question is what is the information sought. Specific and truthful information may be furnished as sought; it is not necessary to be officious.

Hello Ad2702,
Can you pl mention in this Forum the EXACT verbatim of the Question from the TCS Form?
That will help the members to answer your query accurately.
Else, in general, what Nathrao & Umakanthan mentioned is what it is.
