This is regading Background verification.I had attended an interview which is PAN India and well know company.I have gone through round of interview with them and finally got an offer letter.
What worrying me is I have extended my relieving date of previous employment to 2 Months i.e I have resigned on Dec and conveyed that I am presently working with same company.Matter of fact was I was eager and very much in need of employment and didn't wanted to lose this opportunity I happened say this.Now company is carrying out BGV process.Is there any chance for me to lose this oportunity which i dont want to.And do companies oversee relieving date.I have good relations with previous company and a fair conduct aswell.Plz advice me

Dear Irafn If your BGV get negative then your present company can withdraw the offer. Rest if you have good relation with your last company then try to convince them. Else only GOD can help you.

Its already two months since you resigned. How much more time would the new employer require ?
Please write to them asking for an end date, beyond which you will take up offer with other employer.
The chances are that they would offer you a vague answer and keep you hanging in the air. This would make it easy for you to decide if you want to continue waiting for an employer who does n't value you even before you joined or the ex-employer who might still consider re-hiring you !
Just because opportunities might sound good, not necessarily it will turn out to be good. If you work for an employer who cares for you and is responsible to you, you can always create a better career with them.

Any mismatch reported in BGV may result in withdrawal of offer, termination.....
You have to settle with current employer........It may agree by obtaining a written request to keep you on board without wages....

Your message is not clear. Please clarify if you have accepted the offer letter and given a date for joining. If you have done so, then it is only right that you should inform your new company. It seems you asked for and extended your relieving date in your current company on your own. The current company did not ask you to and you seem to have already served the required notice period? Is that correct?

In the above scenario, then, please inform the HR / Recruiter / your new boss at the new company that you will now be able to join only on xxx date and not the earlier date and if that is fine. Normally the company will not object. But if it is extended by too long a duration then they may insist you join earlier. If they do, then it's up to you - do you want the new job more than your current job (I assume it does, else why did you even look for another job and resign from the current company?) - and if yes, then discuss with your current boss and HR a relieving date and provide the new company the correct date and join. It appears your current company had no objection to your leaving them so there should not be a problem. It's just a matter of negotiation. Keep the discussions calm and courteous. Always leave in a good way. Remember you need your boss's recommendations / references in future.

The BGV will not usually check current company dates and details till after you join the new company unless you have given them permission to contact the current company. So be very upfront with your new employer.

It always pays to be honest.
