Hi Ms Savitha
As you mentioned as already your total employee strength is 150 I Hope you have delayed in enrolling with ESI & PF. You should immediately register with both.
As the employee strength is 150 then there are many laws will be applicable. I would like to know the type of industry. Did you enroll with Shops act or Factories act? Have you enrolled with PT?
Learning of all the acts can happen slowly only. You may have to put lot of effort to learn & implement.

Hi Savitha,
It is irrespective of your mangement approval, if the employees head count is more than 10 with aid of power or 20 with out aid of power(Factory definition) PF will be applicable even your management is not ready to give the approval because it is statutory to implement, in the same way ESI too, but, ESI coverage to be there to get the ESI registration, because few newly formed SEZs will not cover under ESI as the ESI facility is not yet started in that surrounding location.
If you want A to Z information, I suggest you to read the PF and ESI acts thoroughly . Once you go through it you will have lots of queries to post where we can have reviews and expert suggestions of HRs.

Sir(s),
1. Implementation or applicability of ESI Act, 1948 has no connection or concern with the concept of Special Economic Zones. Therefore, it wrong to suggest that "because few newly formed SEZs will not cover under ESI". However, before submitting application for issue of Code Number, it can be confirmed whether the area where the factory or unit is located is a implemented area i.e. area for which notification has been issued under section 1(3) of said Act ?
2. Such information can also be obtained from nearest office of ESIC.

Subject to confirmation from you reg.the status of your co. I would suggest the following-

1. What is your status of your adminstration- do you have enough employees, experienced in this area to manage, assist you ? Mostly you would require a team of about 5 to 10 of such personnel to take care of the requirements.

What is your status are you in the managerial capacity or HR executive level seeking guidance from all your superiors in otherwords are you empowered to goahead independently ? If you say yes, no problem citeHR has got more than enough materials and willing experts to guide you through. Alternatively there are lots of consultants in Bangalore who would take care of your requirements in which case you need not have a team of your own.

For the knowledge sake use Search option in these pages to get guidance for all of your queries. Loads and tons of inf. is available here.

2. It's already late, (when your co. established and the strength crossed 10 or more ?) You have to catch up all and close the arrears of work to avoid penalties.

All the best.

Mr. Harsh kumar,
I didn't mean that there is a connectivity between Concept of SEZ to ESI act. If there is no coverage of ESI to the location where the firm is located, there they can not entitled for ESI benefits till the ESI coverage has been given.
So I have taken an example of SEZ because if you take the brandix located in SEZ - Atchutapuram-Vizag, there is no coverage of ESI. Still it is in the process or may be it has got the coverage in recent months(I don't have the info as I left my previous org).
By the way your info related to "before submitting application for issue of Code Number, it can be confirmed whether the area where the factory or unit is located is a implemented area i.e. area for which notification has been issued under section 1(3) of said Act?" is informative to me.
