I observed that all class-A chemicals whose flash point is less than 23 degrees is storing in underground storage tanks.
Does it mentioned in Petroleum act/rules to store in underground . If so what is the section /Rule No.
If any one prepared Important provisions on Petroleum act & Rules, Gas cylinder rules, Static mobile pressure vessels please share.

As per petroleum rules 2001, rule number 122. Petroleum only to be stored. - No installation, service station or storage shed shall, without permission in writing from the Chief Controller be used for any purpose other than the storage and distribution of petroleum and for purpose directly connected therewith

As per 10.1 PETROLEUM ACTS AND THE RULES FRAMED THEREUNDER
Regarding layout plan: The layout of the premises should show the plan view of the installation which must indicate road with its directions and the inter-distances among various facilities of the installation like underground tanks, above-ground tanks, enclosure wall in case of above ground tanks, barrel filling facilities, petroleum storage godown in non-bulk, tank lorry platform, fill point(s), boundary wall/fencing, within the
premises. The layout plan must show the dimensions of the premises, ingress & outgress, buffer island, pipelines etc.
