Hi,
I have done MBA in HR through a distance learning course in 2007.I had a few years of career gap because my daughter was too young,now I have joined a pvt. ltd.company as an HR officer.But I wish to do a specialized course in HR admin or training or may be any other field,which will give me a proper opening or opportunity to work independently or as a freelancer in future.But I want to groom myself in such a field which has a good opportunity in the market.If anyone can guide me properly I would be very thankful.

I think the first question to be considered is: is their a specific specialty within HR most suits your interests and skills.?

For example : compensation and benefits or mobility services. assessment centers, etc.

I would advise to first determine what areas are most interest to you and to look at where you are and determine what gaps in services are apparent in your local or intended workplace.

Once you have a handle on what areas you will gravitate toward, start reading everything you can get your hands on. especially on issues that are hot in your environment.

If you are seeking international opportunities, work on the language of your intended market, for example a command of Arabic in the GCC

Keep track of your accomplishments, and results. All to often I see CV's that focus on tasks and job responsibilities but no mention of the outcomes of the work. What you were responsible for is less important that what you did - achieved- regarding those duties.

If you are considering free-lancing and or consulting: Develop your communication skills, flexibility and your ability to be self motivated. Working for yourself is no easy task
