Dear Seniors, I would like to know if while giving an "offer letter" to a candidate, what would be preferable to show in the letter, Monthly salary or CTC??

Designation,
Salary structure
Date and place of joining
Duration within which the candidate can revert.
Documents which need to submit by candiate. As we follow the same. You can make your own policy for offer letter in regards with salary & salary structure.

Thanks Alot for the reply. But this candidate has'nt resigned yet so If I show him the Salary structure then probably he might play with it and use it to negotiate with other companies, where he has probably given interview.So how do I go about it.

One cannot control the candidates if they want to use your offer letter for better prospects. Without you commiting the salary structure why should he even resign from his existing organisation.
There are good number of cases wherin the candidates take advantage of the offer letter and bargain for a better package somewhere else.
Frankly speaking there is practically nothing you can do in this.
Just go ahead in good faith.

In the offer letter, you can show CTC. There is no specific rule in this regard. It depends on the policy of the Company.
One way to avoid the problem of the candidate misusing the offer letter is that you don\'t mention the salary in the offer letter and mention the salary separately in Annexure A. When it comes to handing the offer letter, you only hand over the offer letter and not the Annexure which mentions the salary.

You fix him the last date for reporting duty if he did not report the offer letter stands cancelled. The exit door will be both side incoming and outgoing. What Supriya suggested is also true. But as a HR person, one should take care
of company's interest. A candidate, to whom offer letter is issued, should necessarily
has to join the company (This is to be ensured by HR).
Hence it is suggested to not to disclose Salary details in the offer letter
(obviously this can be communicated over phone and also inform him that
detailed Appointment letter shall be given to him at the time of joiining which indicates
salary structure).
(A candidate, if he is smart enough, can even encash your offer letter
in the current company which he is presently working, if you mention the
salary details).

PF & ESIC are the Compliance which every company has to follow as per the law. It's not related any ways to Probation Period. Whether the employee is in probation or not Employer has to follow the compliance rules.
But to clarify PF & ESIC are related to the compensation structure of employee.
Like PF is Applicable to Employee drawing basic salary below 6500 & ESIC is applicable to employee drawing Gross Salary below 15000.
I hope your doubts are clear now.
