Let me know that whether can we do appeal for relaxation against 7Q&14B in case of late receiving PF A/c no. from PF Office? We have received the PF code allotment letter in the month of May'13 with provisional coverage date of 7th Jan'13. We have deposited PF in the month of Jun'13 for 1st Jan&Feb only and rest in July/August. Now EPFO is asking for damages & interest charges w.e.f. Jan'13. Are we liable to pay for the period of Jan-May'13?
Please advise with evidence.

Pls see the time line of Application & applicability of PF Coverage
1. Whether your Company Strength of Employee Rech 20 in the Month of Jan-13?? IF Yes then why the application was not submitted in the Month of Jan-2013 i.e. on 7th Jan 2013
2. When was the application sent
3. When did the Enforcement officer visited your establishment & done the scrutiny of records
4. for Example if the enforcement officer visited your establishment on 1st Feb 2013 & submitted the Report say on 7th of Feb-2013 then as per
Pls refer to the attach Inter circular as issued for revised process to be followed for allotment of code number after the application is recd
If the delay is from the EPF dept then Damages can be waived but interest cant be Waived
Further if we go to tribunal then 75 % of the respective Damages & Interest is to be deposited which is not refundable if the case is not in our favor
For the above all scenario all submitted documents proof is a must
