Hi,
I have got selected in an MNC company. Prior to this, I have worked in 3 companies over 9 years. I have worked for over 3 years in my last company.
The MNC are asking me bank statements of all the companies. I never had any reason to take bank statement for anything. Also nobody has ever asked me this before. Since my current salary account is active, I said I could produce only current bank statement. All the older bank accounts have been closed due to no activity, since I never used them after leaving the job.
But I said I have all tax returns of all 9 year period. I have filed tax returns even when there is nil tax to be paid. This is the only thing I have as proof of income.
Can anybody tell me how to handle the situation, I donot want to loose a good offer.
Regards,

Dear Neha,
the HR person who is asking you to provide the Bank statements must be Government Servant earlier they do not know the practice but rule only (Joke apart). The financial documents are enough for the income proof.
Needy person needs to follow the dictator. In you case, is he is insisting for Old Bank Statements then if you know the Bank Account Number and Branch. Once you will have to visit the branch and request them to provide the Bank statements even though the account is closed you can get the bank statements. This is the only remedy for the adamant's demand.
In extreme case Bank people are also reluctant to provide the same, tell them that you are being called for Income Tax Scrutiny where you have to produce the statement to Income Tax Authorities.
