Hi..I resigned from my job recently in TCS as I had to come home to help my father in building our own house and also because I wanted to prepare for some higher studies. But in my resignation letter I have given only higher education as the reason(didn't want to discuss the personal reasons with my manager). My question is can i state personal reasons as the reason for quitting TCS and not higher education(it seems a bit lame ).Can my prospective employers find out my reason of resigning??

Dear Shuvayan,
Having sent in the resignation the reconsideration wrt the cause which would have been written is no more relevant now. Wonder that your resignation has also been accepted by now. In general, it is the relationship with your higher ups which you enjoy which will be instrumental in deciding whether or not you should confide in your boss wrt a particular situation.

Dear S.K,
Thanks a lot for the reply.Yes I have already left my previous organisation. What I wanted to know is that when I sit for subsequent interviews(job/B schools) can I mention personal reasons for quitting and not higher education(as mentioned in my resignation letter)??

No boss. TCS is a giant organization and around 3+ lacs employees work there. Such a big organization would not at all be interested in reasons why do people resign.
Nothing of this sort happens in any IT company.
Also you can mention whatever reason you are comfortable with. IT companies do not cross check and are least bothered why do a resource resign.
