Predators are everywhere. At work place we have better chances to hold them accountable. Thankyou for sharing this article. Sandhya did a brilliant work by putting the best practices together .
Hope more and more firms come up with what they are doing in order to prevent harassment .

Earlier I had posted it https://www.citehr.com/476671-eic-steps-down.html but there was no reply and it was transferred to a forum where none would have read. I thought in the corporate world it is a non issue except when there is a need to fix a person.

In the wake of recent incidences, we have been encouraged to voice our concerns. Or else so far, we have being surviving as runners, out-running predators everywhere. Incidents in the beginning may seem negligible as we are accustomed to such bullying, be it stalking on the streets or malls, or even bullying over the phone with blank calls and weird messages. We either out-run or resolved it with a threatening of a police complaint.

Same holds good for a work environment. Most of us, might have ignored so many passes made at us, that now, we don't even notice it. Such brushing under the carpet only pushes for bigger harassment cases. Being immune or blinded is either mistaken as acceptance or percolates to a next level bullying. Here's an old case, dating three years back, where we all, almost asked her to change jobs, as we had little faith on fighting back.

Back then, even I requested the lady to change job asap. It was easier to rationalise frequent job hops, than to fight back official, high up in the ladder!

Hope things are treated differently now.

In trying a rape case the court presumes that a woman can not make a false complaint of rape because by this the prosecutrix makes more damage to herself than the damage she may cause to the accused..And so onus of proof that he is innocent lies with the accused and not laden on the prosecutrix.
