Dear All,
Kindly advised whether a labour licence which has not been renewed for more than three years can it be renewed taking into account the fact that the orginal Labour licence has been lost. Can the labour office issue a duplicate & amended labour licence in such case?
If yes, what will be the detailed procedure for the same. If no, what are the other options available. Can a re registration is possible in this scenario.
Awaiting your earnest response
Thanks & Regards

Dear Mohla,
Licence is issued for a period of one year which may be a calender year, financial year or one year from date of issue. Pl note once Licence is expired it can't be renewed & in such a case you have to opt for applying for a fresh licence.

Dear C M Mohla,
The License can be renewed. If the License already enrolled in the Authroity, it can be tressed by the entity name & address. Pls visit the Local labour dept & consult with the Registering Authority along with the documents, like (Rent agreement, MOA, PAN Card copy and all other documents, if asked by the AUthrotiy.) Definitely you will get a renewal license & Authority will give a duplicate of the License.

Dear Rubi,
There is no such provision specified under the CLRA with respect to renewal of expired Licence so i totally disagree with your reply. Licence already expired 3 years back then how can you renew the same. If you have some reference please share.

Rule 30 of the central rules under CLRA Act have a provision to obtain duplicate licence if the original one is lost /defaced.State rules also have similar provisions .Based on that one can obtain duplicate and renew the license or registration .Pl meet the licensing or registering authority of your area.

Dear Mr. Mathew,
Here we are referring to renew licence after a period of 3 years while licence is issued a for a year only. Am also aware of provisions stated by you but these are for licence which is in force not expired one.
In case you have any info on provisions with respect to expired Licence then please share.
