Dear Members,

Greetings of the day!!

This post is regarding an irony. I am employed with a company from last 10 months where they said that i will be on probation period of three months after which will be getting an increment of 20% on my current salary. After three months of joining they didnt raised my salary not even confirmed me so that i can be eligible for leaves. Then they closed their venture after six months of my joining because no one was interested to pay them (plz read its a training business).

The company has another venture i.e. manpower consultancy. I forgot to mention that whoever was hired for that training project, they all resigned coz the company was going nowhere. But i sticked to the company coz i know that the new business require stable manpower.

Then in May'2013 they requested me to shift my job profile to BDM of manpower consultancy from Training Manager. I did so coz they showed trust in me. And i gave them the results. Within one month i gave them six empanelments. But till now i havent got my due. They havent confirmed me yet nor they have increased my salary. In between when they offered me another role they told me that if i am not comfortable i can leave. It was my wish to continue with them as i didnt wanted to be jobless.

And now they want me to sign a bond of two years with them. My questions from you members are:

1. Is the bond legal?

2. On which paper it has to be signed (letterhead or stamp paper)

3. can i ask the company for my confirmation and increment in my salary before signing it?

4. What else i need to take care of, like increment also after one year as it will be a two year of contract.

The company Director called me and said he doesnt want to lose me. And i dont want to sign the bond but i dont a have a job in my hand.

Please let me know what can i do. Yes the decision will be mine but please help with your suggestions

Regards,

Dear Friend,
Until and unless you know what is there in there in the Bond nobody can suggest you. First of all you ask them to regularize your services, raise the salary and then you accept the signing of the bond that too if the terms and conditions are favorable to you.
Considering the data what you submitted you are capable of handling things and deliver good in critical scenario, if so why don't you try outside even if it takes one or two months time. Take a chance but subject to your confidance levels because considering the details submitted by you I found that they are not fair & they require your services and wants to fix you to improve their business because they have lot of confidance on you.
Think and take a call.

As rightly suggested by Mr. Kamesh, sit with your head and have firm discussions regarding your future there before proceeding to the Bond. Please highlight your contributions and ask them politely and assertively to keep their promises regarding your salary hike etc. Make them understand it is essential from your stability point of view.
During the discussions, take a judgement of their future plans and also plans about you. In case you find they are just stretching the matter without any purpose, you can very well look for other opportunities.
Hope it helps and All the best!

Dear Sneha,
Lets consider the possible arguments they might come up with. Once we have the Devil's advocate point of view, we would be far more prepared
-The firm was in transition and might need more time.
-Salaries cant be increased to a new pay level, a bonus can be made in the future date.
-You have delivered and made many mistakes at the same point of time.
-Options to deliver in horizontal roles, just have they offered earlier.
-And so on
You have no control over the firm's stability. Any promises made to you , needs to be on paper.
Any shortfall in your performance, calls for backing up with training or support from the leaders. So does the option to work in horizontal roles. Offer your complete participation to deliver.
Wish you all the best !

if they are not paying monthly, then ask them to give partnership in the firm ;-P

Dear Sneha,I learnt your name is Neha from (Cite Contribution)\'s reply.
Two three great training firms as they claim have given me very bad experience during last two years in India.
Showing great prospect and collecting all details of my clients from me they have cheated me I conclude.
One great talker knowing all my confidential business details even asked me to send two stamp papers of Rs one hundred rupees which I sent from Chennai while conducting some assignments in IIT-Madrass. No reply I recived from him before leaving India for 4/5 months assignment in USA.
I think the organizations fail in getting actual business of selling training modules without a brand name of theirs. They promise roses to prospective persons like you and I, but fail in their attempt. Don\'t believe on their promise & try your future elsewhere.

Dear Sneha
It entirely depends on you what you expect from your employer. Do you want to have a roller-coster ride with a very unstable startup? If yes, then you must accept things as they are. You are taking huge risk with your career and you should safeguard yourself with any possible disaster.
You have shown more than 100% commitment in your work and changed roles frequently as per organisation need. Though it is appreciated by your employer, its a great risk to your career. And you must be rewarded for it.
I agree with Mr Doondy Reddy, you can ask them for partnership or some stock options if they are not able to pay you periodically.
After all you are at more risk than those people
All the best

You are as right to leave the company as they are for not paying you your dues and confirmation. In other words, if they dont pay you and confirm you despite promises and over and above you performing, you have better chances of getting another / better job as you did what you were supposed to. So if you can perform in a place which is less equipped with talent, I am sure you can do much better in a place which gives you the right platform in every manner!
Such people are untrust worthy and honestly you shouldnt have been with them for so long. I've had similar experiences but they are fond memories now :)
