Dear Simplesiva,
I am sure that you have studied Research Methodology while completing MBA (HR) and also know how to use the Funnel Approach to narrow down from a general topic to make the research viable. Also, I am sure you know that to succeed with any project/research two primary conditions are your deep interest and access to conduct research to gather primary data. At the Master level, you may not be required to add anything new to the knowledge bank. For Doctoral research, you have to add something new to the knowledge repository; and the research has to be current and not outdated. Hence, my sincere suggestion is kindly to access the web and study some recent articles to assess what others have done, how, and why that way, etc., and then find out where a GAP exists and then tell us what you intend doing.

Hi Simplesiva,
The topic for the subject must come from YOU. You are the best person to decide about the topic depending upon your interests and taste. You can consult your guide and other better informed persons. They may help you in selecting the topic. I wish you all success in your efforts.

Dear Siva,

Thank you very much for acting on my suggestion and doing some work and coming up with the title of your study. It would be fruitful to formulate your aim and objectives of the study and also tell us how you propose to get primary data; for example what's the population size, your sampling method, etc. As you intend doing an exploratory study, I presume you will be using an open ended questionnaire. I wonder whether it would be enough for an award of a PhD degree. Please see http://carmineleo.com <link fixed> and <link no longer exists - removed> if you have not already accessed it for some more ideas.

I do not know the system in India. The systems for PhD in the UK and USA differs. In general, the dissertation for PhD in the States is a partial submission and in the UK it's a full submission. I stand to be corrected, if the systems have changed in recent years. Please also see http://scholarworks.gsu.edu/cgi/view...ntext=eps_diss and SBL Publications

Dear Siva,
Thank you for the private message seeking some pointers that will help all PhD aspirants. I will do that in a few days, as I am tied up with grandchildren.
Coming to your study, the aim and objectives seem to be aligned. However, Objective 1 will not be met using your study plan. Could you please explain why I have said that. To do that, kindly study both the statements with care.

Dear Siva,
Sorry for the delay. It saves my time having to go up and down the page to check exactly what you are on about, if you can raise the questions in your new posts. Have you shown your revised aim and objectives to your guide in the BU? If you have not kindly show him; he gets paid to guide you.
