This initiative is towards the employee engagement. Please call for a competition internally. Ask the employees to name the event, this way you will be able to engage them right from the beginning.
In case there are more than one name in consideration call for a voting.
How big your employee strength? You can call for either an online or an offline contest .
Keep a box and request your employees to drop the proposed name written in a paper.
Acknowledge the winner and honour everyone's effort.

Why company is not sparing money towards entertaining employees.... No one show interest to spare money as well as to join such kind of programme. In any company, a separate budget will be allocated as "Entertainment Expenses". People feel very hard for contributing towards marriages etc as the is going to be a regular practise. If it is discontinued again you will have to face questions. Hence, avoid collecting amounts from employees towards their entertainment. No one can spare time now-a-days because of their work loads and targets.
