Dear All, Just want to know is it legal to use client logo instead of name in our company profile under client list? Regards, Altaf

Dear Mr. Altaf,
Yes, you may use the standard logo of the client under the client list in your profile. Regardless, to the business it depends on how you want to disclose but generally no client does object as it's a kind of promotion to your patrons.

Dear Altaf
To avoid any dispute, it is advisable to seek the written approval from clients for the usage (whether it is the logo or the company name).
It is a common practice to use logos in presentation slides and the more prominent companies are used. It is usually just a sample of your clients and not the full listing. Another common practice is having moving logos on company website for the same reason.
Having said so, you still need to have a full listing of all your clients (without the logo) as potential clients may request for it.

Dear Altaf,
I totally agree with Jane. It is advisible to seek written approval of the Client before using their logo or their name for your sales promotion. Please also refer to the contarct of your Client if it has any clause regarding the same.
Do not use the name or logo of your Client without their consent otherwise that may be termed as the infringement of their intellectual property rights also at times breach of confidentiality clause or agreement.
Please read the clause related to confidentiality or IPR in the contract with your Client and act accordingly and very carefully.

Dear Altaf,
In addition to what have been contributed by our experts, please check with the laws of your land. Different nations would have different laws on co-promotion. There might be certain degree of declaration that you would require from your client and rest will fall in its place.
