I am looking for an HR Lead/ Chief People Officer for an IIM Alumni led Analytics firm based out of Bangalore.
About the client:
The client provides analytics-powered solutions to marketing and business problems for leading global marketers. They have doubled employees and revenue every year for the past 4 years and currently have about 150 employees across the world.
Role:
- The Chief People Officer will be a key member of the Executive Management team, reporting to the Board of Directors. The CPO will have a strategic role in the management of key asset base – its people. He/ She will be responsible for transforming the company into a future-ready, agile organization while maintaining its core strengths and values. As part of this, the CPO will develop a people-centric, measurement-oriented HR organization. Primary day-to-day responsibilities will include taking overall charge of recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, training and compensation and benefits administration.
- The ideal candidate would be one who believes in being transparent, people-centric and performance-focused.
Responsibilities:
1. Capacity-building
- Participate in strategic planning exercise and create final hiring plan
- Execute hiring plans on time
- Create a network of sources for each type of role
- Build strong links with campuses and build on company's credibility within key campuses
- Build programs to achieve retention goals
2. Capability-building
- Identify current capability gaps and future needs, and design programs to address these:
- Training programs
- Creating new leaders
3. Performance Management & Compensation & Benefits Administration
- Evaluate Company's performance management program and suggest improvements, own execution of such programs
- Optimize compensation and benefits programs, including bonus awards, esop awards etc, across all levels within the company
4. Employee Engagement
- Own employee engagement process
- Be one-point contact for grievance addressal, policy framing
- Co-own internal communication
5. Organization culture
- Clarify and reinforce organization culture through direct and indirect means
- Frame policies keeping in mind company's unique culture and beliefs
6. Own HR Measures and goals & reports
- Create measures and systems that measure people-health regularly and accurately.
- Own employee records
7. Other: As a key member of the Executive Management group, the CPO will regularly collaborate with key leaders on strategic questions, especially people-centric ones.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Master’s degree in HR preferably from top-b-school; experience in the HR function or in managing large teams. Candidates without basic HR qualifications, but with a demonstrated interest in building and managing teams are also welcome to apply.
- 8+ years post qualification experience. HR experience in related sectors will be preferred (analytics/ KPO/ IT/ Consulting). The ideal candidate will have a mix of experience in large teams as well as small, high-growth companies.
Other preferred traits would include:
- A mix of HR and business roles
- Previous experience across multiple HR roles
- Demonstrated interest in building HR functions in small companies.
Personal Attributes:
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
- Has understanding/ vision for role of HR function within the company
- Ability to demonstrate fairness, communicate clearly, listen to others’ opinion objectively, maintain respect and privacy
- Ability to work unsupervised, follow-up and close tasks; result-orientation
