Gulzarilal Nanda (July 4, 1898 - January 15, 1998). He was the Prime Minister of India twice for short periods; once after the death of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1964 and again in 1966 after Lal Bahadur Shastri's death. On both occasions, his tenure lasted less than a month, his term ending upon the election of a new leader by the Indian National Congress (the ruling political party).
He never had a own house. He is also the only prime minister who did not own a house. It is said that he was thrown out of his rented house as he could not paid the rent.
I doubt how many of us know that Mr. Nanda was our Prime Minister for two times although acting.
I am attaching stamp issued in his memory.
