Can anyone guide me that if a person is posted to his native place on medical ground, In that case will he be entitled for project allowances or not. Can any one elaborate the rules or give reference regarding the same.

Dear
In reference to your query regarding project allowance, i would like to draw you attention to the fact that it will depend upon the Management Deployment Policy, for what type of benefits an employee will be eligible in case of posting on medical ground to his native place. Kindly take help and advice of your HR people working in the Organization. As such the employee has been posited to his native place on medical ground, it is specific case and the management have the sole discretion in this regard as per my opinion.

But if project office is existing in native place and other employee posted there are getting the benefit.

It depends on various factors such as -
A) what's the eligibility for project allow;
B) when an employee is on med leave, is he eligible;
C) is there any project in the place of posting where such allow is payable;
Hence, chk up rules of the Co. and decide.

Administration: Paying Project Allowance is a Policy guidelines of an organization. HR and Finance Departments have to contribute for the drafting and arriving at the final shape and to communicate it to all employees, irrespective the employee is a member of a new project or not. Later date the employees may form a part of project management. Let it not be a confidential matter. Follow an open culture.

Policy Formulation: If you have grades among your employees of the project, you have to assess the Project Allowance. Senior managers, Middle managers and Junior managers are to be categorised. Managers/Executives/Officers, as the case may as per the designations. Secondly, the project term should be assessed. Delayed projects escalate the cost in every terms. Thirdly, the Project allowance, with the assessment of the Finance Dept. whether it is taxable or not. If they decide that it is not to be taxed,though being an income to the employees, then they have to take a decision as to whether production of any supporting documents to exempt from income tax.

The employees are to be paid the project allowance, either with the bifurcations made in it or a lump-sum which the policy decision. In the bifurcation also you my be prudent enough to communicate what are the components in the bifurcation, should have the clarity as to what sort of amount be eligible for a continuous claim, and are on special circumstances. Miscellaneous expenses of the employees are to be negligible and should not violate the systems of reimbursing the amount of project allowance.

An employee if they happen to go on leave with permission are to be paid the project allowance. Or you may communicate that "On Leave" under any kind of leave, will not be considered, which may help the project to get completed without delay.

The above are only hints and not exhaustive.

Dear Rakesh,
I would like to give you a simple rule .
If employee is on his/her job so he or she must get project allowance . It's doesn't matter he or she is going for work at his/her native place or working from his/her home .

Dear Rakesh,
Once the company has acceded the request for posting on medical grounds, all the allowances as paid to the employees stationed at that place should invariably be paid to this employee also unless & untill there is specific condition or offer from the employee to forgo project allowance in lieu of the posting.

If other employees are getting the benefit then why this employee is being penalised, If this allowance is based or linked on site/city based then you can discontinue such allowance otherwise could not see a good reason to with hold

Question related : if you were hiring someone locally tomwork in that project, would our give him a project allowance (I guess not)
If that is the case, then this employee does not get it either.
Further, he has requested that posting on medical grounds, so that is another reason why it will not be given. But still, it depends on what the management wants to do. It is at discretion to give it even if not required. I assume from your question, you are looking for reason not to,pay to lower your cost.

I think he is talking about site allowance when one was posted at project sites. In many construction organisations, site/project allowances are payable only when they are at site/project. Pon
