Hi guys Can u please tell me how is hr and ergonomics is related and what is the scope of it in future.
Hello Pradisha,
Ergonomics is a major component of the human resources management." Ergonomics is the science of fitting the job to the person, rather than the person to the job"!
Both HR and ergonomics are integral to optimal human performance. Ergonomics is the link between efficiency, effectiveness, safety and heath of the employee and organization. Hence it has significant impact on the process of the organizational development and on the employees as well. Thus ergonomics has hand and glove relationship with HR.
This Ergonomic process is achieved by evaluating and designing workplaces, environments, job tasks, equipment and processes in relationship to human capabilities and interactions in the workplace. The goal of ergonomics is to enhance human performance while improving safety, health, comfort and job satisfaction. Designing workplaces with ergonomic principles results in benefits such as increased productivity and employee satisfaction, decreased work related injury rates and associated medical, rehabilitation and legal expenses, as well as decreased employee turnover, and sick leave etc.
Hope this helps to answer your query.
