Hi All,
I am in my notice period and need to undergo a medical treatment. As it is a medical emergency, I asked my manager for 4 days leave and told him that I would extend my notice period by 4 days also. I had already told him about this leave a month back and it was approved. Subsequently, I put down my papers. Please let me know if I will be able to take the leave. He is harassing me and threatening not to give the relieving letter.
Please help...

Not sure how you leave policy is defined, under medical conditions you may avail the leave but there is a fare chance your notice period get extended if defined in the policy. I suggest you have a discussion with the HR and clarify the same. Please have the medical certificate ready to support the leave.
Thanks

Hello vbsangitha,
There's something missing in the details you mentioned--don't think you gave the full details.
One way to handle the situation is what Srinivas mummadi suggested.
However you seem to be contradicting yourself--you say it's a medical EMERGENCY & at the same time you mention that your manager has been informed [& also given his OK] about this 1 MONTH AGO. Hope you get the point.
Pl clarify/confirm the brief details of the medical condition--maybe your manager wasn't convinced about it?
Another way to handle it is: Just wait until you get relieved to get your medical treatment done--saves you the trouble & time of trying to convince everyone.
All the Best.

Dear Ms. Vbsangitha,
May it a case that you have asked for a leave when you haven' decided to resign. Resignation doenot stop you from taking leave especially on prior medical grounds. What-so-ever is the case, you shall be ready to serve those excess of four days in your notice period.
You manager is no one to stop you resign. Don't furore, if your case is genuine and important please go-ahead.

Dear Sangitha,
Do not worry it must be a harassing tactics of the manager and nothing else. Do one thing finish your notice period and if they do not provide you any document, write a letter to them demanding all of the documents and mark a cc to labour commissioner of your area. You will get the documents with an ease. On medical ground you can take leaves even during notice period.
