Need help with worksheet. Spent half a day but havent got any solution. Attached is motor vehile worksheet with two tabs. 1) Result 2) Data. Data is the tab which we download from our accounting system. And result is the tab where I need to abstract data from data tab. I will try to explain what I want. Say in cell Z9 of results tab I want 300 as result and in cell ad9 i want 658 as result. It will be abstract from data sheet.. ie looking at Z5 (Account code) and G9 (Registeration No).
So I am sure lookup will not work in this situation. What will work is combination of index and match again the problem with that is index formula apply to rows and columns but in my case both are rows. Another twist is in data sheet account code is full account no but I want to look it only in last five digits only. without adding an additional column in data sheet.
