घरेलू गैस सिलिंडर भी एक्सपायर होते हैं. सिलिंडर पर ही कोड वर्ड में उसकी एक्सपायरी तिथि व वर्ष भी अंकित होते हैं.एक्सपायर सिलिंडर खतरनाक हो सकते हैं औसभी गैस सिलिंडरों पर एक्सपायरी तिथि अंकित होती है. यह एक कोड वर्ड के रूप में सिलिंडर के ऊपरी हिस्से में बने रिंग को जोड़ने वाली तीनों पट्टी में से किसी एक पर लिखा रहता है. मसलन ए-13, बी-15, सी-19 या डी-12.इस पर लिखे अल्फाबेट ए, बी, सी व डी का मतलब माह होता है और उसके साथ अंकित अंक वर्ष को दर्शाता है. ए का मतलब मार्च का पहला सप्ताह, बी का मतलब जून का दूसरा सप्ताह, सी का मतलब सितंबर का तीसरा सप्ताह व डी का मतलब दिसंबर का अंतिम सप्ताह. इस तरह यदि किसी सिलिंडर पर डी-12 लिखा है तो इसका अर्थ है वह सिलिंडर दिसंबर 2012 के अंतिम सप्ताह में एक्सपायर कर जायेगा. इससे कभी भी हादसा हो सकता है.

Our Gas Cylinders expires too. The expiry date and year of gas cylinder is written in code words on the cylinder itself. An expired cylinder could be dangerous. The coded expiry date is written on either of the three strips joined with the upper ring. e.g A-12, B-15, C-19 or D-12. Where A, B, C and D are months and the number is the month and
A means 1st week of Mar,B means 2nd week of June,C means 3rd week of September, and D means last week of December.thus if D-12 is written on the cylinder then it means that the cylinder is expiring in last week of December 2012 and it could be dangerous to use it after that.
