Dear Seniors,
we are going to extend /recruit more than 1000 employees in our factory , whereas this is 450,now. so i request to know what are the mandatory legal compliance as per Punjab factory act & rules if factory have more than 1000 employees . for example, is medical dispensary & Doctor required to hire ?.

Approval of Revised Building Plan from O/o Chief Inspector of Factories of your region.

You have to appoint one Safety Officers. The duties, qualifications and conditions of service of safety officer shall be such as prescribed by State Govt.

You have to appoint one Welfare Officer. Again the duties, qualifications and conditions of service of safety officer shall be such as prescribed by State Govt.

You have to seek an amendment in the factory license if is granted for employing less than 1000.

Nos. of latrines and urinals accommodations to be increased as defined in factory rules i.e. one latrines for every 25 persons up to first 100 person thereafter one additional latrines for every 50 persons whereas one urinals for every 50 persons up to first 500 person thereafter one additional urinal for every 100 person.

If your industry is carrying some hazardous process or dangerous operation as defined under the schedule of Factory Rules you have to provide and maintain an Occupational Health Centre having One full time medical officer, one nurse, one dresser and one sweeper throughout working period.
