These both acts are completely different from each other, esic coverage limit is 15000 only satish

If a factory 'OR' an establishment exist in ESIC notified area, then, as per rules ESIC applicable on those contractual manpower who falls within ESIC ceiling. Remaining contractual manpower will be covered under workman compensation.

Workmen compensation and ESI is two different Act. If in your establishment there are more than 10 employees with less that 15000 of salary then you have to mandatory register under the ESI Act. As per Workmen compensation Act if the worker gets injured during the course of the employment then the employer has to compensate for the loss caused by the worker. If your establishment is covered under ESI, then that expense will be covered by the ESI and you need not worry. If ESI is not covered then you have to insure your works separately. If you did not insure your employees then you have to pay the loss caused to your worker from your pocket.

In simple you have to understand that.........wherever you are deploying your workers, if that area is under ESI notified rather than Implemented Area, then no need to comply under workmen compensation act. In case the area of working falls under non implemented area you have to follow workmen compensation act, maternity act, etc., as applicable........

If your company is covered by esic then you need not to take workmen compensation because up to 15000/- salary all are covered with esic rest you can opt for midi-claim policy which will cover your ailment & accidental treatment cases. esic will only applicable if your employees strength is more then 10 person.

As far as for coverage under EC Act(earlier WC act) their is no salary limit The only condition is that the person injured shall be employee as per definition .The injury should be an employment injury.

ESIC Specifies the coverage limits for the establishments based on their facilities being extended easily.The Coverage area are under Zones Namely Zone 1,Zone 2. Zone 3.Zone 1 &2 Are the Areas comin under Municipal Corp and Zone 2 are the area are Nagar Parishad and Cantonment area. Where as Zone 3 area is the area where they are not with in the limits of Zone 1 and Zone 2.
Consequently as per the ESIC Act it is manadatory for the Establishments to register under Esic if it falls in Zone 1or Zone 2.For rest of the areas Esic does not impose its Mandate but as the per governing Labor Law and for the welfare and protection of Employees,Employees needs to be insured under EC Act. Esic Act has its Limits for the insurance coverage for employees based on salary and that is below 15000 PM. In the same way EC Act specifies Min Limits but not the max limit for insurance coverage as premium.and has also defined the benifits under the act.
Also Pls note that not only contractual employees required to be brought under this coverage but all the employees who are eligible and fall under the terms of these two Acts.
