Hi

There are broadly two things you can do to make the place more exciting and lively

The first is upgrade/ refurbish/ the physically setting.

Some simple suggestions could include putting up pinup boards for the staff to display some interesting pictures/ articles/ motivational sayings apart from work related information. You could also put up some art work/ paintings or motivational posters in the room. If you have the budget then hire a professional interior to make suggestions. Alternatively you can get final year architectural/ interior designing students to give you suggestions as part of their assignment and see if you can implement their ideas.

The second is to create a enthused/ engaged/ motivated work environment.

This is more challenging since the process is more subtle and the results difficult to gauge. To begin with you could share a daily / weekly motivational quote or inspirational email. Plan out employee engagement activities and ensure variety, participation, rewards and fun. Getting the staff involved in organizing it can be a great way to get commitment. Get a suggestion scheme going both to increase productivity as also to make the work environment very lively.

Trust you will be able to adapt/ adopt some of the thoughts shared and with you own creative inputs make the work place exciting to be in and also a very productive place.
